What is Flickd?

Flickd is a streaming discovery app that learns your taste in movies and TV shows. Swipe through content cards, check in daily with what you're watching, and build a viewing personality profile that powers smarter recommendations over time.

How do I create an account?

When you first open Flickd, you'll go through a quick onboarding where you pick your content preferences, streaming services, and a few shows you like. At the end, sign in with Google or Apple to create your account. All your selections are saved automatically.

How does the subscription work?

Flickd offers a 7 day free trial with the annual plan. After the trial, you'll be billed annually or monthly depending on the plan you choose. You can cancel anytime through your device's subscription settings.

Swiping

What do the swipe directions mean?

• Right: Interested (adds to your watchlist)
• Up: Loved It (adds to watchlist with extra weight)
• Left: Not For Me (tells us to show less like this)
• Down: Didn't Like (strongest negative signal)

Every swipe helps Flickd learn your taste. The more you swipe, the better your recommendations get.

Can I undo a swipe?

Yes! Tap the undo button at the top of the swipe screen to reverse your last swipe. The card will return to the stack and the swipe record will be removed.

Can I see my swipe history?

Go to Settings → Swipe Historyto see everything you've swiped on, with search and filters. You can also select multiple items to move them to a different category or delete them.

Daily Picks

How does my daily pick work?

Every day, Flickd generates a personalized recommendation based on your swipe history, personality profile, viewing habits, and genre preferences. Your daily pick refreshes each day and is unique to you.

What are Discovery Picks and Watch Again?

In addition to your daily pick, Flickd offers two more personalized recommendations:

• Discovery Pick: A deeper cut that blends your top genres with adjacent genre exploration, weighted by your variety trait. Great for expanding your taste.
• Watch Again:A tailored rewatch recommendation from content you've already seen. Scored by how long ago you watched it, how much you enjoyed it, and your current genre preferences.

Why is my daily pick the same as yesterday?

Daily picks are generated once per day and cached. If you see the same pick, you may be viewing a cached version from earlier today. The pick will refresh the next calendar day in your local timezone.

Check-ins & Streaks

What is the daily check-in?

Once a day, Flickd will prompt you to log what you watched. You can browse trending content, select from your watching list, or search for anything. Tap to select, then log your session. Checking in builds your streak and improves your recommendations.

How do streaks work?

Your streak increases by one each consecutive day you check in. If you skip a day without checking in or explicitly skipping, your streak resets to zero. Streaks are tracked in your local timezone.

Can I skip a day without losing my streak?

If you didn't watch anything, you can dismiss the check-in prompt. However, skipping does not preserve your streak. You need to log at least one viewing session to keep it going.

Watchlist

How is my watchlist organized?

Your watchlist has three tabs:

• Watching: Items you've marked as currently watching
• Interested: Items you swiped right or up on
• My Lists: Custom lists you create

Long press any item for quick actions like marking as watching, viewed, or removing from your list. Tap the + button to browse trending content or search to add new items.

Where did my negative swipes go?

Items you swiped left or down on are filtered out of your watchlist views. They still exist in your swipe history (Settings → Swipe History) and contribute to your taste profile.

Personality & Stats

What is my streaming personality?

Flickd computes 7 traits from your swipe and viewing behavior: mainstream vs. indie taste, serial commitment, rewatch tendency, critical eye, variety seeking, and mood range. These traits match you to one of 10 personality archetypes.

When does my personality update?

Your personality automatically recomputes every time you swipe. Your habits update on each check-in. Stats refresh whenever you view them. Everything stays current without manual action.

What are Signature Picks?

Signature Picks are the top 3 movies or shows that define your taste. They're computed based on uniqueness (less popular = more defining), how strongly you reacted (loved > liked), and alignment with your top genres.

What is Taste Evolution?

Each month, Flickd takes a snapshot of your personality and genre preferences. Over time, you can see how your taste has shifted on the Taste Evolution timeline in your profile.

Subscription

What plans are available?

Flickd offers monthly and annual plans. The annual plan includes a 7 day free trial. You'll receive a reminder before your trial ends so there are no surprises.

How do I cancel?

To cancel your subscription, go to your device's subscription settings:

• iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Flickd
• Android: Play Store → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Flickd

Account & Settings

How do I change my preferences?

Go to Settings to update your content type preference (movies, TV, or both), streaming services, genre preferences, theme mode, and display name.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings → Delete Account at the bottom of the settings screen. This will permanently delete your account and all associated data. This action cannot be undone.
