How can we help?

Everything about swiping, daily picks, your streaming personality, streaks, lists, billing, and your account.

Getting Started

Flickd is a streaming discovery app that learns your taste in movies and TV shows. You swipe through content, and it builds a streaming personality profile that powers personalized daily picks, so you stop scrolling and start watching. It only ever recommends titles on the services you already pay for.
When you first open Flickd you'll go through a quick onboarding: pick your content preference, your streaming services, and a few shows you like. At the end, sign in with Google or Apple to save everything. Your picks are buffered during onboarding and synced the moment you sign in.
Flickd is available now on iPhone via the App Store. Android is coming soon. Join the waitlist on useflickd.com to be notified the day it launches.
Yes. Flickd is a subscription app. After onboarding you start a subscription (the annual plan includes a 7-day free trial) to access the main app. There's no ad-supported free tier; the subscription keeps the recommendation engine running and the app ad-free.

Swiping & Discovery

Right = Interested (adds it to your watchlist to watch later). Up = Loved It (adds it as watched, with extra positive weight). Left = Not For Me (a pass, recorded so Flickd shows less like it, but not added to your watchlist). Down = Didn't Like (the strongest negative signal). Every swipe trains your taste profile.
Yes, tap the undo button at the top of the swipe screen to reverse your last swipe. The card returns to the stack and both the swipe record and any watchlist entry it created are removed.
For TV shows with two or more seasons (or 40+ episodes), Flickd asks how much you watched: a few episodes, a season or two, mostly caught up, or seen it all. The card animates away immediately and the question appears after, so it never slows you down. This helps Flickd understand your commitment to a series.
Quick Pick is a fast, focused discovery mode on the Discover tab. Choose a genre and content type, and Flickd gives you a rapid full-screen swipe feed: swipe left to pass, right to match. When you match, it shows you inline where to stream it, with your own services highlighted.

Daily Picks

Every day Flickd generates Tonight's Pick: one personalized recommendation scored across 24 features including genre affinity, your personality traits, recency, popularity alignment, and your day-of-week viewing habits. It checks whether you have something to continue watching first, then picks the best fresh match.
Alongside Tonight's Pick you get two more daily picks. Discovery Pick is a deeper cut that blends your top genres with adjacent genres you might enjoy, weighted by your variety trait. Watch Again is a tailored rewatch from content you've already seen, scored by recency, how much you enjoyed it, and your rewatch tendency (available once your account is 5+ days old).
Yes. You can refresh a pick up to 10 times per hour, and you can give any pick a thumbs up or down. Thumbs-down feedback penalizes that genre in future scoring so you see less of what you didn't want.
Your daily picks refresh at midnight in your local timezone, computed fresh from your most recent taste profile and viewing patterns.

Your Streaming Personality

Flickd computes seven traits from your swipe and viewing behavior (variety, mainstream vs. indie taste, serial commitment, rewatch tendency, critical eye, genre loyalty, and mood range), and matches you to one of 10 archetypes like Binge Sprinter, Hidden Gem Hunter, or Prestige Purist. It evolves as your taste evolves.
Yes. The algorithm learns per-user weights from every swipe, session, and check-in. Early on it leans on sensible defaults; the more you use Flickd, the more it personalizes. Your personality result is smoothed over time so it shifts gradually rather than swinging wildly.
Your profile shows swipes, hours watched, genres explored, completion rate, your viewing journal of sessions, and monthly taste-evolution snapshots. Some deeper insights (trait breakdowns, swipe analytics, and taste evolution) are part of the full experience.

Watchlist & Lists

Your watchlist has three tabs: Watching (what you're actively watching), Interested (things you swiped right on), and My Lists (your custom lists). It's a poster grid. Long-press any item for quick actions, and sort by date added or popularity.
Yes. Under My Lists you can create custom lists (for example "Date Night" or "Halloween") and add any movie or show to them. Lists are saved to your account and sync across sessions.
For shows you're watching, Flickd tracks your progress at the season and episode level. Mark episodes watched as you go, and your daily picks factor in where you are in a series.

Check-ins & Streaks

Each day Flickd asks what you watched yesterday. It suggests yesterday's picks and currently-watching titles, or you can search. Checking in sharpens your recommendations and keeps your streak alive, or you can skip a day explicitly.
Your streak goes up by one for each consecutive day you check in. Skip a day without checking in or explicitly skipping and it resets to zero. Streaks are tracked in your local timezone, so "today" always means your today.

Notifications

Flickd sends a daily-pick nudge timed to before your usual viewing hour, a check-in reminder after your viewing window, and alerts when a new episode or season drops for a show in your watchlist. Only one fires at a time, prioritized so you're never spammed.
Yes. In Notification Settings you can toggle each type on or off. Timing is personalized automatically from your viewing habits. For example, the daily pick arrives about 90 minutes before your peak viewing hour for that weekday, and check-in reminders are suppressed on days you usually skip.

Subscription & Billing

Flickd is $29.99 per year (which includes a 7-day free trial), or $4.99 per month with no trial. The annual plan works out to far less per month and includes the trial so you can try everything first.
The 7-day free trial is on the annual plan. You won't be charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel anytime during the trial in your device's subscription settings to avoid being billed.
Subscriptions are managed by the app store. On iOS: Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions → Flickd → Cancel. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the current period.
Open the app's subscription screen and tap Restore Purchases, which re-syncs your entitlement from the App Store. If it still doesn't unlock, make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you purchased with, then contact us and we'll sort it out.

Account & Privacy

You can delete your account and all associated data from within the app's settings. Deletion is permanent and removes your profile, swipes, watchlist, and personality data.
Flickd supports the major US streaming services including Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Max, Prime Video, Apple TV+, Peacock, and Paramount+. You pick yours during onboarding (and can change them anytime), and Flickd only recommends titles available on the ones you have.
Your viewing data is used to power your recommendations and is tied to your account. See our Privacy Policy for the full details on what's collected and how it's used. You can delete everything at any time from settings.
