Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Flickd (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Flickd is a streaming discovery and personality app that helps you find movies and TV shows through a swipe-based interface. The App provides personalized recommendations, daily picks, viewing personality analysis, check-in streaks, watchlist management, and social features.

3. Account Registration

To use Flickd, you must create an account using Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and all activity that occurs under it. You must provide accurate information and keep your account details current.

You may optionally claim a unique username. Usernames must follow community guidelines and may not impersonate others or contain offensive content. We reserve the right to reclaim usernames that violate these guidelines.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other user accounts
• Interfere with or disrupt the App or its servers
• Scrape, harvest, or collect data from the App by automated means
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Upload or transmit harmful content through social features
• Circumvent any access restrictions or usage limits

5. Content & Data Attribution

Movie and TV show information, including titles, descriptions, posters, ratings, and cast data, is provided by The Movie Database (TMDB). This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. All content metadata remains the property of its respective owners.

Streaming availability and deep links may be provided by third-party services. Flickd does not host or stream any media content directly.

6. Flickd Pro Subscription

Billing

Flickd Pro is an optional premium subscription that unlocks additional features including Hidden Gem picks, Wildcard picks, enhanced queue algorithms, and more. Subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and are subject to their respective terms.

Cancellation

You may cancel your Flickd Pro subscription at any time through your device's app store settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are provided for unused portions of a subscription period.

Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google per their refund policies. Flickd does not process refunds directly.

7. Intellectual Property

The Flickd name, logo, app design, recommendation algorithms, and personality system are the intellectual property of Flickd. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App without our written consent.

Your user-generated content (custom lists, viewing sessions, swipe data) remains yours, but you grant Flickd a license to use this data to provide and improve the service, including generating aggregate community statistics.

8. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data.

9. Disclaimers

Flickd is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

• The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
• Recommendations will match your preferences perfectly
• Content metadata or streaming availability is always accurate
• Your personality profile reflects your actual personality

Personality profiles, viewing habits, and recommendations are generated for entertainment purposes and should not be considered professional assessments.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Flickd and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or interruption of service.

11. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App or by updating the “last updated” date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law.
